A subset of the Tec Deep Diver Course, Tec 40 is ideal for someone entering technical diving. It bridges the gap between recreational diving & full technical decompression diving.
Conducted over a period of 3 to 5 days, the course helps students gain experience & begin building the knowledge & skills to continue their Tec diving training. It consists of three knowledge development sections, classroom sessions, & a minimum of four training dives.
Participants learn about –
Upon certification, Tec 40 divers are qualified to make limited decompression dives to 40 metres/130 feet using equipment that is similar to the one used in mainstream recreational diving.
At SEI, technical diving courses are taught using a mix of classroom presentations, theory discussions, & in-water training, leading up to open water dives. An ideal course schedule goes as follows –
Day 1 (8.30am–5pm): Classroom presentation & decompression theory discussion; equipment considerations; finning workshop & pool training
Days 2 & 3 (7am-3pm): Open water dives including qualifying dive, debrief & further remedial training if required.
Once a course is booked, we assign e-learning materials at the earliest to help you complete theory sections at your pace & convenience, prior to arrival at the dive centre. This is highly recommended as it also allows us to allocate more time for in-water training.
Technical courses are performance-based & not time-based. This means, the duration of the course depends on the time it takes for you to master skills & additional training days may be required, if necessary.
